Christian Dating Bristol: Meet Christian Singles in Bristol
Believers in Redcliffe, Clifton and beyond, looking for each other. 18+ only.
Faith and love in the shadow of St Mary Redcliffe
In 1574 Elizabeth I is said to have called St Mary Redcliffe "the fairest, goodliest and most famous parish church in England". Its 292-foot spire still makes it the tallest building in Bristol. Yet the city around it has changed. According to Bristol City Council's summary of the 2021 Census, 51.4% of Bristolians say they have no religion, the third highest share in England, while 32.2% describe themselves as Christian.
So Christian dating in Bristol takes a little more intention. At work, at the climbing wall or in the pub quiz team, most people you meet will not share your faith. Christian Love puts the ones who do in one place.
Roots that run deeper than the harbour
Bristol's Christian story is far older and bolder than its census numbers suggest.
John Wesley's New Room in Broadmead, built in 1739, is the oldest purpose-built Methodist chapel in the world. Wesley spoke against the slave trade from here, and it is now a chapel, museum and café among the shops.
George Müller's orphan houses at Ashley Down were built between 1849 and 1870 and run on prayer and donations alone. Around 17,000 children passed through them, and the George Müller Museum sits in one of the original buildings.
Bristol Cathedral on College Green was founded in 1140 as St Augustine's Abbey and became a cathedral in 1542. Its east end is a rare hall church, with aisles as tall as the choir. Across the city, Clifton Cathedral, consecrated in 1973, was the first cathedral in England conceived after the Second Vatican Council, a listed concrete landmark for Catholic Bristol.
Woodlands Church, an independent evangelical church in Clifton near the University of Bristol, is now a family of churches across eight sites in the city.

Coffee in a chapel, views from a tower
The New Room café is a Fairtrade café in a light atrium inside the historic chapel complex, right in Broadmead. It is easy to reach and full of conversation starters.
Brandon Hill is Bristol's oldest public park. It is free to enter, and Cabot Tower at the top is free to climb, with views right across the city. A good choice if you would rather walk than sit, and the climb gives nervous first-daters something to do with their hands. If the conversation flows, the walk back down the hill is a ready excuse to keep it going.
