Glasgow and the west of Scotland

Christian Dating Glasgow: Meet Christian Singles in Glasgow

For Glaswegians whose faith is part of everyday life. 18+ only.

Two hundred years of Glasgow faith in action

On 1 January 1826, a 26-year-old called David Nasmith founded Glasgow City Mission, the world's first official city mission. In 2026 it is marking its 200th year.

That practical spirit suits Christian dating in Glasgow. Faith here is something you live out, on the street as well as in the pew, and it makes sense to look for a partner who sees it the same way.

Catholic and Kirk, side by side

Glasgow's church life is unusually balanced. Scotland's Census 2022 shows a far stronger Catholic presence in the city than in the country as a whole, alongside the Church of Scotland.

Religion in Glasgow and Scotland, Scotland's Census 2022
GroupGlasgowScotland
Roman Catholic20.7%13.3%
Church of Scotland13.3%20.4%
Other Christian4.7%5.1%
No religion43.2%51.1%

Put together, 38.7% of Glaswegians are Christian, and the share with no religion is lower here than across Scotland. If you are Catholic and hoping to meet someone who shares the Mass, our Catholic dating page is a good next stop. Church of Scotland and other Protestant singles are in good company too.

Cathedrals at either end of the city centre

Glasgow Cathedral is the only medieval cathedral on the Scottish mainland to come through the 1560 Reformation virtually intact. It is dedicated to St Kentigern, better known as St Mungo, the city's founding saint, who is thought to be buried there.

Down by the river, St Andrew's Cathedral on Clyde Street was built between 1814 and 1817 and was Glasgow's first major Gothic revival building. Beside it lies a small Italian Garden, opened in 2011 in memory of those lost on the Arandora Star, with a Tuscan olive tree around 200 years old given as a sign of peace. It is a quiet place to sit and talk.

Glasgow questions from Christian singles

Can Catholics and Church of Scotland members date on Christian Love?

Yes. Christian Love welcomes both, and every other tradition. Couples from different churches should talk early about where they will worship and, if it matters, how they would raise children. Pray about it and speak to your own minister or priest.

Are there Christian singles events in Glasgow?

Ask at your church or chapel, and keep an eye on local listings. Events and other ideas are gathered in where to find Christian singles.

How is my privacy protected?

You choose a username, and your real name and email are never shown. Members see your nearest town rather than your address.
